The concept for the BIC SUP One Design Challenge is simple – Participants paddle around a short race course, all using the same BIC SUP 12’6 WING board, which event organizers provide for participants to use.  Top finishers advance to a finals and a winner is crowned, but for newbies the real accomplishment lies in the journey, not the podium.  “It’s a lot like participating in your local 5K road run”, says BIC Sport Marketing Manager Jimmy Blakeney, “You sign up with your friends and family to try something new and have a good time, plus SUP is fitness disguised as fun, so you get a great workout too!” Many organizers will run weekly or monthly events, allowing participants to set goals for improvement while meeting other active people in their community who love being on the water. On top of the fitness, fun and socializing, all participants are entered into a drawing to win a 12’6 WING from BIC Sport, the same stable, user-friendly board used for the races.   The online focal point for the BIC SUP One Design Challenge is BICSUPONEDESIGN.COM where a full listing of events can be found, including an interactive map and the ability to RSVP to events and share with friends via social media.
